Domestic career

Bhuvneshwar represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and has featured for Central Zone in zonal tournaments. He made an early impression in the Ranji Trophy and national age-group competitions, famously dismissing Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in a first-class match during the 2008/09 Ranji season.

International career

Kumar burst onto the international scene in December 2012 during a high-pressure series against Pakistan, taking wickets on debut and quickly establishing himself across formats. He made his ODI debut on 30 December 2012 and his Test debut in February 2013. Known for clinical control and late swing, he has been particularly effective in white-ball cricket for India.
